The Missouri Adult Day Services Association for the first time presented an award recognizing an outstanding and innovative adult day center. The 2011 winner of the award was the Adult Day Center at the J. Maggie Menefee, Director, submitted the nomination for their new dementia designed center. The Adult Day Center at the J has a 30-year history of successful programming in the St. Louis Community. The Adult Day Center at the J has participants who have remained with the center for eight to ten years. Family evaluations indicate a high degree of satisfaction with all services offered by the Center with special emphasis on the program activities provided. A favorite activity is the raised garden bed which allows participants to be engaged in gardening activities.
